Bartering

How many of you collect
Sampler and Antique Needlework Quarterly?
I love this magazine and started collecting it very early on, however I am missing three issues #'s  2, 3 and 5.
When I was conferming that those were the only missing issues I found that I had a few duplicats.
Issues #'s 1, 8, 29, 33, 45.
So I was wondering if anyone would be willing to trade for issues I need for issues that I have extras of.  All of the issues are in very good condition, please let me know if you are interested.  sutton.carmen@comcast.net

Primitive Quilts and Projects

Have you all seen this New Magazine???  I am always leery of buying a subscription sight unseen, but let me tell you, you can't go wrong with this one.
This it the fall issue, the second one published and if you have not broken down you should really think about it.  It has lots of different projects; quilts, stitching, rug hooking, wool applique and wool penny rugs. Some thing for everyone with a primitive flair.
I have one more copy and it can be yours for $9.99 with free shipping.  If your interested email me at sutton.carmen@comcast.net.
Sold thank you.
There is only one warning I want to do every project in each issue and I'm running out of hours in the day.

The Sausage Box

Does this look comfortable?

Or this....

Or this???
Well it must be because where ever this box goes so does Koo.  I have named it her sausage box because it makes her look like she's a little Christmas sausage ready for shipping.
Koo is very protective of her sausage box and will not permit Fuzzy to even entertain the idea of getting in it.
It is truly amazing how entertaining pets can be.

Changes

I finally got the courage to change up the blog some.  Do you ever get comfortable with what is there, or worry if you change it too much or too often then it might not have the same appeal or people may just think that your just flighty.  Maybe is is just getting into a groove that is comfortable like wearing that favorite tee shirt, you know the one that is full of holes but super soft.  Well I guess I should just be quiet so I don't reveal all of my secrets.

I decided that I would offer up the following items on my website.  Check them out if your interested, you will find the link on the sidebar they are under the For Sale tab.

 Pinberry Lane's Tomato box

Stacy Nash's Colonial Pin Drum

Let me know what you think of the blog changes.

The Winner Is

Well ladies, the Koo cat did not want to pull names from her box and since there were only 10 of you that signed up (two by email) for the drawing, I have decided that I will just send all ten of the entries a carrot.  The only limiting factor is that I have to finish them.  So I will get to finishing if everyone will please email me your address, sutton.carmen@comcast.net.

I also have great news I will be sending Cardan Antiques and Needlework items for a trunk show at Notforgotten Farm in September where they will be displayed along with other awesome designers. Click on the picture to find out all of the details.  If your needing a get away this fall be sure to stop off at the farm for a good time.

They Say It's Your Birthday

But so is Tennessee!
Danny and I took a drive through Middle Tennessee the other day and these were some of the things that we saw.
It's not just anywhere that they would trust you to come get the key to the shop.  This was in a small antique shop in Bell Buckle TN.

Downtown Bell Buckle lots of little shop, fun little place to stop.

Just liked the looks of this building

The Webb School a college prep school in Bell Buckle founded in 1870

One of the original buildings on the Webb campus

Do not forget to go to the national cornbread festival in South Pittsburgh home of Lodge cast iron pots

Lots of water in this section of TN

This little valley is Dunlap nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

McMinnville nursery capital

Danny looking for fish.

Neat log cabin

One Lilly the deer did not get.

These next pictures are taken through my sewing room window.  I had been watering the flowers at the back of the house and this is who stopped by to take a bath.  Forget the cute little mocking birds, blue jays and robins this was one hot Hawk that need a cool bath.  I have been talking about this for days.

So now on to what I have been doing in the heat.  Well sewing in the air conditioned house of course.

Stacy Nash pin drum

All the different sides featuring the little strawberries on top.
I used French General fabric for the top of the drum.

I have to say I'm quite proud of this piece so much so that I had to make two.
It is by Pineberry Lane, but look inside the tiniest tomato and a little pin keep that tells you exactly what it is.
It is all in a hand painted 4 inch square box.

Oh but it is summer and the vegetables are coming in.
These little carrots just got picked, they are from a Stacy Nash pattern, I couldn't wait to whip them up.

You will also notice the little seed packet that I put my Love-in-a-Mist seeds in.
Since it is my Birthday and I have had tons of birthday wishes, I would like to share a carrot and a packet of seeds with one of you!

If you would like to find a home for this lonely little carrot please leave a comment and if your not already a follower I would love to invite you to follow my blog.  I will draw names on Sunday the 17th.
So Happy Birthday Everyone!
