Nashville Market

What a weekend at the Nashville Needlework Market!
I was lucky to get to go to market with Little by Little to help in the booth, I failed in the help part, but managed to do the scouting for Cynthia and Candi who did all the work.
I have had some emails about Cynthia's new patterns, so lets start with a few pictures of her booth.

 Brown Dog Sampler
New Piddlings

Old piddlings looking great together in wooden trencher

Three Blind Mice

Now my goal was to take lots of great pictures of all the wonderful booths with the lovely samplers and I managed to get two done.  I'm sorry that I failed you, but by Sunday when I was going to do this I was in a spending stupor.  Have you ever suffered from this?
Well Here is the one other booth
La D Da

And Ms La D Da herself!
I did get this one other lone picture of a lovely little pin box from Needlemade Designs.
This was one of my favorites from market I loved the finishing on it and knew that I had to have it.  Can you guess what is on the other side of the mouse scissor fob?

Now I could go on and on about all of the lovely designs that were there but I will just list a few of my favorites!
Stacy Nash - Grace Bridges
Plum Street Samplers - My Brothers Keeper
Nikys Creations - Needle Keeper
Scarlett House - Mary Roe 1808
Needlework Press - Posies From the Cottage
Summer House - Nine Shaft Sampler (older pattern but a must have)
Shakespeare Peddler - Jane Patterson
I know that you will have already picked your own favorites I would love to hear what they are. I know that I will see them on all the blogs already stitched in a few days, you all amaze me with the shear speed of your needles.

So I mentioned that I would have a give away from market so.... with out further adieu

Christmas in February

This arrived in my mailbox last night and boy what a treat!  A lovely over one version of the peacock from Christmas at Hawk Run, I knew it was coming just not when.  I must say it was so worth the wait Thank you Darlene! Your finishing is perfect with the chenille trim I could do no better.  He is hanging on the postal desk in a place of honor.

Quilt up date.
This is the kind of help I get when trying to finish a project.  I think the quilt passed the kitty comfort test.
Kitty finally allowed me to finish the small quilt.
I made a mistake on the front and had to redo a couple of pieces so not to waste them I used them on the back to add some interest.
Oh I should have said I didn't make a mistake I just planed it that way right?
Our class teacher who I just love for all of her great pointers showed us a little pattern to make our quilt label with.  It was paper piecing, which I had never even heard of, but oh what a fun technique to do.
I know many of you have heard that Nashville Market starts tomorrow.  I am so lucky that I get to go I wish everyone had a chance to experience one.  There are so many things to see, people to meet and fun just to be had.  I'm not in a booth this year and in fact my new patterns will be coming out a little later, but I will be helping some in Little by Little's booth you know giving them breaks and such.
I did make a few things for Cynthia's booth.  They are little pin cubes inspired by one in the Primitive Quilt Magazine, but I modified them for stitchers.
Cats, Roosters, A&E, Colonial Lady and Man, Little by Little, and a Hornbook.
I hope everyone likes them.

I will try and find a little some thing at market to share with you.
Have a great weekend.

Stash Give Away

I mentioned last week that I had been cleaning and found items that had accumulated in the sewing I would like to share them with you over the next few weeks.  There are some items that due to their size would cost more for shipping overseas, so would be for the US followers only.  I do have some smaller items that I will gladly ship worldwide.  Please remember that size is not everything and I may have what you have always wanted so let's have some fun!
I don't like to follow rules so I will keep it simple.
Leave a comment on this post!
I will draw a name on Saturday the 18th.
A Sajou box.
I think it would make a great thread box, what would you use it for?
This drawing for shipping in US.
Good Luck.

Last month I started Jo's Little Women Club 2012.
I love quilts, but have very little experience making them.
The very first thing we did in class was show and tell and I began to wonder if I was in way over my head!  I tried to look on calmly at one of the quilts another student had just completed a lovely hand appliqued quilt, everyone had some thing wonderful to show, I just tried to sink lower in my chair.
The teacher is wonderful and I feel like I learned alot...but remember I need to learn everything, so much that the teacher asked to see me after class "Oh no what did I do"?!
She was very nice and was really just trying to bring me up to speed so I would not be completely lost when I got home.   So here is my poor little quilt.  We were supposed to use some stripes, but let me say don't look too closely as I have no idea how to make those lines completely straight.  I'm hoping that when I wash it after quilting it will not be so noticeable.
I hope it will pass inspection.

One more item of news. Have you seen the new Spring Primitive Quilts and Projects?
There are so many great projects in this magazine that it is hard to decide which one to start first.

I have two extra copies for sale, if you are interested they are $9.00 each with free shipping in the US please let me know if you would like me to send one your way.

I hope you all have a wonderful week and get lots of stitching done.

Change is in the Air

Thank you thank you!
I am always telling the kids if you have trouble in class go ask the teacher. The teachers love it when they can help you and even better if they think you care.  Why then did it take me months to ask for help???  I just don't know, because you all were able to help and I now can do everything that was evading me.  My next task is to make it pretty, but that will be another day.  I have been cleaning out my sewing room and found some items that would love to find another home so be looking for a give away in the next few days.
Thanks again for all of your help.

I have been trying to make some changes to my blog, and I'm stopped at every turn!  I'm going to try and con Danny into helping me figure out some of these problems, I'm not so patient with computer problems.
A few of my problems are....
 1) How to change my profile information I keep getting an error message.
2) I want to add pages to my blog, I get a message saying that I already have them, they must be invisible.
3) I love all of those blogs that have a nice collage of pictures as their blog header I'm clueless how to have one also.
I was able to update blogs to visit, there are so many good ones out there, take a look to see if any are new to you.

So onto things I can do.
I finished a reproduction sampler that I will soon have ready for sale.  I will give you a few sneak peaks

I'm getting ready to start another reproduction and this one will be a favorite, a nice big house and a really cool garden, in fact I'm going to go start right now!
Hope you have a great weekend and get lots of stitching done.
If anyone has answers to my blogger problems feel free to send them my way.
